This game rocks!!! Wish I could find the secret grinding area though, fighting the secret boss without a little bit of extra stats is not an easy task.
Also! The dodge buttons being directional, i.e. left bumper for dodging left and vice-versa, was suuuuuuper confusing to me.
The dungeon is shaped like a heart, and the secret area is in the one square on the map that's missing to complete that shape (or if by "secret boss" you already mean the one in that room, then unfortunately there isn't anything else)
Although, if you ask me, the Fierce Aunnlettes aren't worth beating. The fight at the end of the secret area is the worst thing ever, even with the highest possible stats. Whoops!
always a fan of Summon Night, had a good time with the combat. not big on puzzle games on the other hand but the puzzle sequences here were engaging and satisfying to clear, dialogue for tossing the butt ball in the water was especially adorable.
the Fierce Aunnlettes and final boss hit the sweet spot of challenging at first but very doable once I got used to the fights and dodge timings.
Pretty late, but I would love if there were a sequel or a full-on game that's similar to this (like same mechanics and battle). In other words, this is a great game!
I've got a couple ideas for returning to these mechanics in far future, but I do mean far future. In the meantime, I'll recommend the Summon Night: Swordcraft Story series on GBA, which I totally stole at least half my ideas for the combat system from (and the earlier 2D games in the Tales of [insert fantasy word here] series from which I stole the other half, heh)
is there a secret to defeating le 2 funni doggies? :( right now im trying to just git gud after beating the final boss, is there a pattern of some kind? do you think it's possible to do it without taking any damage?
You kinda gotta... just get lucky. Sorry, I know that's really lame, but I really only put them in as a joke, not expecting anyone to try to beat them. I didn't put any time into making them an actual fair fight after that (you're never guaranteed to be able to dodge their running attack, for example), haha...
I see, i just saw the comment from the other dude who beat them and thought "damn, they must be really good at this" but knowing this makes it even funnier, 10/10 best doggos, i will pray to the rng gods until then, thank u and love ur game
A really cute game that quite entertaining. It's pretty short (unless you decide to bash your head against two very special doggos) puzzle dungeon which I would love to see more of.
BTW, about those special doggos. After beating them, I didn't get any Bond Levels for some reason, thought I would let you guys know
Oh welp, I was expecting here an extra boost before facing the boss and I just got rewarded with a sense of achievement. I'll have to do with that xD
Both the actual boss and this one were fairly challenging (AKA difficulty but possible to beat if you know how to play the game which is how I like my enemies) so good work on that. I'll be looking forward to more works of yours 🙂👍
I did encounter the bugs that the others mentioned previously
I love how the battle is that like of Summon Night: Swordcraft Story
As usual, the final boss kicked my ass multiple times but it was very fun. I never did get a handle on when the final boss does the helicopter thing but still, very fun
I love how Momiji's face says she's just done with the whole thing, but she happily skips along in the dungeon and absolutely races back to you at full speed the instant there's a clear path after you've separated.
The propeller move has already been massively nerfed, but I probably will continue to make some tweaks to make the fight not drag on as much.
You're actually not meant to be able to save after beating the boss, but I didn't realize it was even possible to pause at that point so thanks for letting me know
Okay, I think I got 'em. Thanks so much for the help and I'm really really sorry you had to replay the whole game multiple times just to run into these
Just keep on killing them until they die for real. However, if you haven't done the other areas yet it may be easier to leave and come back when you've leveled up a bit more
Hello, I enjoyed the game a lot, but it seems I encountered a bug? I moved a statue over a hole and it suddenly threw me into an infinite loop and had to restart the game. Just thought to let you know. 11/10 tho. Would definitely play again.
I like what I saw so far while I was playing. Unfortunately I wasn't able to complete what's currently here due to getting softlocked in the "cat-frog" statue room. This looks good though and I will definitely check back after saving is added ^^
I knewthat spot would end up continuing to trap people... That room has been such a massive thorn in my side for the last few days of development, nothing I change seems to make it work, ahhh... Maybe I should just add a way to skip it entirely
More seriously, I think a reset room button would have been nice for these times. I just found myself stucc while overthinking things. And crashing at the final boss. That's really unfortunate. *sweat*
Edit: got somehow teleported inside the solid blocks after this room's scripted fight. Can't free myself.
Oof, that's a lot of new softlocks to go over, huh? Thanks a bunch for documenting them all though, seriously helps a ton.
Yeah, not being able to implement a reset button or a save feature in time for the deadline (and trust me, I tried, and I cried) is probably my number 1 regret for this game jam. Knowing how many times and how many people have been forced to replay from the start of the game because I couldn't make things work properly seriously keeps me up at night

I will leave it here and say nothing more:

You find the secret grinding room and become incredibly OP
makes perfect sense

The FIERCE Aunnlettes actually give almost no experience points ;)

You actually nailed down my number one inspiration perfectly there; the world always needs more Swordcraft Story. Thanks a bunch for playing!!

Really nice game, I enjoyed it a lot.
im just really stupid but- how do you move/push the dogs? im on pc and i keep on trying the gambler hook but no go
there's one specific kind of statue you can grab onto, give 'em another look and you'll find it
The statues with the eyes don't reset when you leave a room. it's a terrible puzzle
oh thank you!
I beat the boss, which took a bit(the blade attack and the ball attack were annoying)
I tried saving on the ending credits and got this.
The propeller move has already been massively nerfed, but I probably will continue to make some tweaks to make the fight not drag on as much.

Okay, I think I got 'em. Thanks so much for the help and I'm really really sorry you had to replay the whole game multiple times just to run into these
These issues aside, this was one of the better games this jam. I've scored it accordingly, good luck
how do you defeat the lil Mokou chickens?
Just keep on killing them until they die for real. However, if you haven't done the other areas yet it may be easier to leave and come back when you've leveled up a bit more

Well that's a weird lil' edge case there; luckily I already know what causes it so it ended up being a pretty simple fix

I may be stupid.
